A square cake is charged on the basis of the next incremental size larger
All cakes have a generous layer of marzipan and a choice of
traditional royal iced or the softer finish of sugarpaste
Very elaborate designs may have additional costs

SPONGE BIRTHDAY CAKES
The sponge is made with butter
and has a jam and continental buttercream layer

WEDDING CAKES
The recipe has the fruit steeped in brandy or rum,
it is made with butter and then matured for three months. During this time it will be fed with brandy or rum at intervals, this gives a rich well rounded flavour so the taste of the cake will be as enjoyable as the visual impact of the cake will have been

SUGAR FLOWERS
The flowers used are handmade using a fine petalpaste.
According to preference they will be either hand moulded and unwired or if a spray or posy is required the flowers are made directly onto covered wire, this allows the arrangement to be easily removed for keepsakes.
The flowers can be chosen to match or compliment the bridal bouquet
Sugar flowers can be kept as keepsakes indefinitely if stored correctly

NOVELTY CAKES
Usually made from a butter sponge coated in marzipan
Shapes vary from a simple shape of a teddy bear or an open book to a three-dimensional design of a boat a car, a train or an elaborate fairytale castle complete with turrets

Elaborate or complex designs will be priced accordingly

A runout onto a plaque that may be kept for a keepsake:

PAINTINGS
Painted with edible food colours
Some designs may be suitable for painting directly onto the cake surface while others are better on a plaque, lightly fixed to the cake surface. Painted plaques are a useful way to have a keepsake of the occasion

Depending on the cake design
it may be possible to incorporate some of the flowers, inscription or runout
onto a plaque that may then be carefully removed at the time of cutting to be kept as a keepsake of the day
